Here’s more about what’s new…
The Residence® Collection
We love this brand new collection of 10 new woods! Inspired by interiors and prime residences from across the world, the new Residence® Collection of wood floors from Ted Todd embody contemporary luxury and refined design.
Each style comes in a choice of narrow plank, narrow herringbone and 45-degree angled chevron blocks. The idea is that you can be versatile with your floor design and carry the same wood tone in a range of patterns across the floors in your home, if you so wish. So for example you might want a parquet herringbone hallway floor, into a straight plank in the open-plan kitchen before going into a chevron design in the lounge. You can do all this harmoniously with the choice of wood tones in the Residence® collection.
This is the beautiful Bloomfield engineered wood floor in the Residence® collection, the darkest of the ten floors available, seen here laid to a stylish chevron pattern.
Another great feature with the floors in the Residence® collection, and which you can see in the images shown, is their smooth interrupted surface. That’s apparent as the edges of the floors aren’t bevelled. So, the final look is one of seamlessness across your whole floor, and with that, the luxurious grandeur much like a home in a prime residence.
As we said before, there are ten wood tones to choose from in the collection, most of which are on the paler, lighter side. Lighter floors do help to give a more spacious, wider, open feeling, so this makes sense for the collection. But whether you want subtle hints of grey, a sun bleached look, or a floor with golden tones, you’ll find one to suit in the Residence® collection. See the samples at our Knutsford showroom.
One of the lighter tones in the collection, this is the Motcombs floor seen here in a parquet herringbone pattern.
Woodworks Reclaimed Collection
If you’re looking for a floor with undeniable character and the very best imperfections you’d expect from reclaimed wood, then this collection is for you. These floors have a past, have a history, and could tell tales from their previous life. And now you can have even more of them in your home, with 12 new reclaimed pine floor styles being available in the collection. Plus, the new Reclaimed Collection contains floors from the former Bold Surfaces collection.
This is the Hip floor, available today in the Reclaimed Collection, seen here installed by us at a home in Knutsford a few years back when the floor formed the Bold Surfaces collection. The Hip floor originates from Victorian times when pine was used in homes with elm becoming harder to source. In those days, floorboards like these were covered over with rugs, even carpets. What’s great about Hip, is that you can still see the original blackened nail holes alongside the authentic wear and tear of the floor from generations of use. In fact, with this wood floor installation, we used the original Victorian-style nails to fix the boards down, for an even more authentic nod to the floor’s bygone era.
The reclaimed pine floors are incredibly durable and that’s due to the fact old growth pine has a much tighter spruce compared to fast grown pines, making it a more robust timber.
Here’s a close-up shot of the Radcliffe floor in the Reclaimed Collection with its many beautiful blemishes. Made from pitch pine originating in the US, these restored Georgian pine planks have had their original patina carefully hand polished, showcasing the planks’ original manmade markings against its warm brown tones.
Woodworks Antique Collection
Floors in the Antique Collection are the oldest, fully restored floors available from Woodworks. They are all over 100 years old and the preservation of these ancient materials is taken very seriously, with a twenty-stage restoration process. The patinas in these woods cannot be reproduced; they only occur when the wood is used over time and the Woodworks craftsmen make sure to give these organic antique features the respect they deserve.
And one of the new floors introduced to the Antique Collection is the exquisite Charlotte antique floor.
And here is the Charlotte floor sample board, which is on display in our Knutsford flooring showroom. As you can see it’s something else in terms of flooring design, a true one-of-a-kind which would make the perfect centrepiece in a luxury home where something distinctive and stand-out is sought. Presented as a Parquet de Versailles panel, it features subtle variations of light-toned wood, accentuating the floor’s imperfections, which are what makes its unique personality. The floor has a robust 20mm engineered construction too, so you can be sure of an excellent, high-quality floor.
New Chevron designs in the Woodworks Parquetry Collection
Floors which showcase Ted Todd’s passion for parquetry. These are statement floors and several of the designs in this collection cannot be found anywhere else. The Parquet de Versailles design for example, is registered to Woodworks, as is Sapphire, a patented circular parquet design.
But we want to showcase the new chevron blocks which feature in the Parquetry Collection: Freya, Maeve and Rhea. These now accompany Ringlet to deliver a choice of 4 floors crafted using the finest Aged European Oak, in a stylish chevron pattern – perfect for contemporary interiors.
Here you’re looking more closely at the Freya floor in the Woodworks Parquetry Collection with its light, beach blonde tones. This floor comes in a choice of thicknesses: 15mm or 20mm as well as a choice of wear layer: 4mm or 6mm.
And this is the Maeve floor in the Parquetry Collection with its rich, sultry, cocoa tones. The floor has been double fumed by the Woodworks craftsmen, allowing the fuming to get to the core of the wood, resulting in a floor with a multitude of deeper tones. Note as well, the bevel free edge of the floor, making it ideal for a seamless finish across wider spaces.
The new Niamh floor in the Parquetry Collection
This is another of the new Woodworks floors where we have invested in having a sample panel made up for our Knutsford showroom. Niamh features a stunning Continuous Versailles pattern, which interior designers can take advantage of for either laying as a centrepiece or main focal point of a project. Or by having as the backdrop to a space. Either way, Niamh with its light colour, warm tones and uplifting shapes and darker grain patterns, will look sensational. Handmade from European Oak, this floor will age gracefully over its lifetime, looking better still in years to come.
Here is the sample panel we have on display at our Knutsford flooring showroom, of the Niamh wood floor in the Ted Todd Woodworks Parquetry collection. With its Continuous Versailles pattern, it is something quite special for any interior. We welcome homeowners and interior designers alike to browse our many Ted Todd wood floor samples, alongside the other flooring, carpets and rugs we have available, to create the perfect interior setting.
